VicHealth has announced the recipients of the Growing Healthy Communities grants, supporting 82 community-led initiatives across Victoria.

Regen Gippsland will deliver active nature outings on the East Gippsland tracks and trails through a co-designed pilot program for young people  and their families to increase physical activity, strengthen community connection and improve mental wellbeing.

In partnership with FLOAT and a coalition of East Gippsland stakeholders (Landcare, Communiversity, Australian Walking Society and Destination Gippsland), this fun and artistic activation of the East Gippsland tracks and trails is the first step in a bigger vision of a "Connected Gippsland". It will lay the groundwork for a broader regional transformation, tackling significant challenges in youth mental health, food access, social isolation and physical activity.

Thanks so much Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) for trusting us with this wonderful opportunity and a massive thanks to everyone who has been a supporter in getting to where we are today!!

Stay tuned for further updates and if you’re keen to be involved, we’d love to hear from you!

Regen Gippsland acknowledges the First Peoples – inclusive of formally recognised Traditional Owner groups, Gunaikurnai and Bunurong, and the Traditional Owner groups of the Far East Gippsland region – as the traditional custodians of the lands we now call Gippsland. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, traditions, culture, and hopes of their communities. We acknowledge the importance of fostering conversations centered on the future, drawing from the wisdom of First Nations peoples, with an appreciation for the enduring effects of colonialism and dispossession.
