Regen Gippsland is a platform for ambitious collaboration in service to our region.

About us

Regen Gippsland exists to drive collective ambition and cross-sector collaboration between not-for-profit, business, social enterprise, government, education, and individuals.

Regen Gippsland brings together the community to explore how we might apply Doughnut Economics in addressing significant challenges and opportunities for our Gippsland region.

We extend an invitation to all communities across the shires of Bass Coast, South Gippsland, Baw Baw, Latrobe, Wellington and East Gippsland, to participate in this ongoing dialogue concerning the region's future.

Regen Gippsland aims to channel the collective power of this alliance, to enable the transition to a future that better serves people and the planet.

Our Vision

A Regenerative Gippsland is…

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to move Gippsland into the safe and just space of the Doughnut. What does this mean?

For those of you who are new to Doughnut Economics, the green doughnut is the safe and just space for humanity. The inner circle is our social foundation where we care for each other, making sure nobody falls short of basic needs like water, food, education etc.

The outer circle demonstrates our ecological ceiling and how by caring for country we can bring those overshot boundaries of biodiversity loss, air pollution, ozone layer depletion, climate change etc into the save space again.

Regen Gippsland acknowledges the First Peoples – inclusive of formally recognised Traditional Owner groups, Gunaikurnai and Bunurong, and the Traditional Owner groups of the Far East Gippsland region – as the traditional custodians of the lands we now call Gippsland. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, traditions, culture, and hopes of their communities. We acknowledge the importance of fostering conversations centered on the future, drawing from the wisdom of First Nations peoples, with an appreciation for the enduring effects of colonialism and dispossession.
